The 2nd weekend of the national Premiership proved to be a tough one for the Villa Rockets. Although the results didn’t all go our way, the Rockets can take a lot away from their performances. The match reports are below.

Villa Rockets 1-1 West Bromwich Albion Throstles

Rocket’s opening match of the weekend was a local derby against rivals Throstles. Villa started well and were unlucky to go into the break with only a one goal advantage scored by Dan. Unfortunately, the team could not add to the scoreline and were punished by Throstles who equalised against the run of play.

Villa Rockets 0-2 Nottingham PFC

Rockets started well however after conceding an avoidable goal they never got going and free the flowing football seen in the previous game was missing. Nottingham deserved their victory adding a second goal in the last minute.

Villa Rockets 2-0 Middlesbrough PFC

Rockets opened the second day against Middlesbrough and soon took control through goals from Amir and Dan. Their dominance continued to the end with Villa unlucky not to add to their tally.

Villa Rockets 0-2 Aspire PFC

Villa acquitted themselves in the early stages taking the game to title challenging Aspire but they were undone by two goals that came from defensive lapses. However, the squad performed extremely well and can take heart from this performance.

Villa Rockets 0-4 West Bromwich Albion

The last match of a long weekend came against the current League and Cup holders. Rockets were hit with a four goal blast in the first half but put in a battling second half performance to prevent Albion adding to their tally.
