WFA National Premiership Season 2021/2022
The National Premiership’s Weekend 4 had Rockets involved in 5 games. Poor performances on Saturday and playing against some of the top sides in the league led to the Rockets failing to take any points.
The squad for the weekend was Bubba, Danny, Amy, Jon, Saaj, and Summer.
Match 1 – Villa Rockets 0 – 1 Sevenoaks
A disappointing game both in terms of the result and the performance. In a game of few chances a Rockets mistake gave Sevenoaks the goal that sealed the game.
Match 2 – Nottingham 3 – 1 Rockets
(Summer)
Again a poor performance, Rockets lacked quality on the ball and went 2 down before half time. At the start of the 2nd half, Rockets picked up and Summer pulled a goal back finishing off a good move. However Rockets conceded a 3rd almost immediately which killed off the game giving Nottingham a deserved win.
Match 3 – WBA Throstles 3 – 2 Rockets
(Summer, Amy)
Sunday’s first game was a full-on feisty affair and tremendous to watch. It was an even 1st half with 2 goals apiece, Rockets goals coming from Summer and Amy. Rockets dropped off a little at the start of the 2nd half and Throstles scored a third. Although Rockets pushed hard for an equaliser and had a couple of good chances, they were unable to convert them and ended up losing the game.
Match 4 – Villa Rockets 0 – 2 Aspire
Another fast-paced game, this time against 2nd in the league. Rockets matched Aspire in the 1st half going in at half time at 0 – 0. A miss hit shot led to Aspire’s first goal early in the 2nd half with them adding a second halfway through the half. Although Rockets fought hard, they couldn’t get back into the game.
Match 5 – Villa Rockets 0 – 2 WBA
Rockets faced top of the table WBA in the last game of the weekend. They put in another terrific performance matching Albion for most of the game but ended up on the wrong end of the result. A goal just before halftime and a 2nd half penalty were enough for WBA to take the 3 points.
