WMPRL Championship – 13/11/22
Villa Rockets Lions (M. HINDLEY, T. MARSHALL) 2 – 0 St. George’s Knights
The team kept up their winning start of the competition with goals in the first half by M. HINDLEY and T. MARSHALL. The team continued to play well in the second half but were unable to add to the scoresheet.
Villa Rockets Lions (S. STINSON) 1 – 3 Nomad Knights PFC
The team suffered their first loss of the competition. We were penned into our own half and had to defend some good play from the opposition. Nomad went 1-0 up through a very good passing move and finish by them. Against the run of play, Lions equalised on a break away through S. STINSON. The team couldn’t shift the momentum and conceded to go 2-1 down into half time.
After half time the team conceded again to go 3-1 down. Unable to turn the game around, Lions ended up taking our first loss of the season.
Overall as we go into the break for Christmas, the team was pleased with its start to the season and will look to try to improve going into the New Year.
