Villa Rockets Lions 3 – 0 Notts Forest PFC

The team’s third game of the championship campaign started off slowly. While controlling the game, the team gave a lot of 2 v 1’s away and were struggling to create in the final third. They made the breakthrough, by countering the opposition free kick, which was cut out by E. Maskeen, who hit the ball back past the opposing goaalkeeper. The team made it 2-0 before half time with M. Hindley adding to the goals he got on the opening weekend.

Going into the second half the team continued pushing to create more chances and got their third through M. Hindley.

While not playing their best, the team was happy with the result.

 

 

Villa Rockets Lions 3 – 1 WBA Dudley

Maskeen, M. Hindley, T. Marshall

 

Going into their second game of the day, the team were looking to improve on their performance. WBA Dudley started quickly and the Lions were having to defend and rely on counter attacks. The team went 1-0 down, conceding from a direct kick in set piece. We were able to go into half time level, from a E. Maskeen free kick, deflected in from an opposition defender.

The team regrouped at half time and started the second half with more control. We went ahead from a set piece finished off by M. Hindley. This gave the team more confidence and shortly after got a third goal through another set piece, scored by T. Marshall, assisted by E. Maskeen.

The team was very happy with the wins on the day, making it 4 wins from 4 so far.
